Results Summary: I have provided over 100 hospitals and healthcare providers with tools and expertise to improve their use of software to improve how people use technology for healthcare providers to be paid correctly. Most have recovered their software investment in the first year, and have gone on every year to collect millions of underpayments, and denied dollars they would have otherwise lost.
Technical Summary: Data Mining tools includes all versions of Crystal Reports, Unix, SQL, and proprietary report writers as well as Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and even Notepad. Special contract management software includes Ascent® Contract Management System, Ascent® Quality Management System, Concuity Clear Contracts.

Remote or onsite services include software implementation, operations redesign, interface development and testing, contract coding, system table design, staff training, report writing with Crystal Reports 5 through 11, SQL, and MS Access.

Triad Hospitals and Quorum Health Group. 2000 – 2002.
Quorum Health Group owned 23 for-profit hospitals throughout the United States. I was the primary technical support during implementation of the Ascent® Contract Management System in 17 hospitals. I programmed contracts into system, developed reports, monitored interfaces and backups; performed system restores and provided technical and application support to users in the client-server application. Wrote or modified customized log and variance reports for Commercial, Medicare and Managed Care accounts. Evaluated and filled executive, management, and end-user requests for custom reports. Developed curricula and trained users at hospitals and corporate offices.

Saint Thomas Health Services. Nashville, TN 1998-2000
St. Thomas Hospital is a 500-bed facility with 75% cardiac patients. Implementation Project Manager for Ascent® Contract Management and Quality Management Systems. Established processes for contract modeling, returned contractuals, and Utilization Review With Crystal Reports 5 and 7, produced clinical and financial reports. Developed audits for data reliability, and supported end users and operational leaders.

Provider Relations Coordinator, Case Manager, 1996-1998
Performed medical necessity review and catastrophic medical case management for the health plan. Coordinated selection and implementation of claims adjudication and case management software. Established processes for provider relations, fee schedule development, and credentialing for a startup Preferred Provider Organization, provider relations, and fee schedule development. Implemented electronic data interchange for direct and internet transfers of health claims and eligibility data. Developed Access and Crystal reports for claims and utilization management.

Implemented Order Entry software for Patient Care Areas in the hospital. Chaired the JCAHO Information Management Standards compliance task force to prepare successfully for the 1994 JCAHO accreditation survey. Coordinated search and selection for new hospital information system for multiple facility functionality.
