Join me and other health IT professionals in Las Vegas for the Annual HIMSS 16 event on February 29 – March 4. With more than 300 education programs and over 1300 vendors, HIMSS16 is the place to be to network and connect with industry leaders. Don’t forget to bring your business cards!
We have a great lineup of keynote speakers that includes Michael Dell, CEO of Dell; Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Secretary of HHS; and Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning. I came across the following interesting piece of information about Peyton from the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association on Facebook recently. Did you know that Peyton Manning was born with a cleft palate that required two surgeries and a bone graft? As a result of his health issues and physical appearance, he was often bullied and called names by other kids. Today, he is an inspiration to many. I think we are all going to want to hear his closing keynote address.
With so much to see and do this year, HIMSS16 has developed a mobile app to enhance and navigate your experience in Vegas. For more information on the conference and to register, be sure to check out the brochure.
If you are a small independent Consultant that serves the healthcare industry on a consulting or contract basis, you may want to consider becoming a part of HIMSS SIC SIG (Small and Independent Consultants Special Interest Group). HIMSS SIC SIG is a support organization that provides a forum for technical discussion, knowledge-based sharing and available opportunities. If you are thinking of becoming a consultant, looking for consultants, or a consultant looking for an opportunity, join me on Wednesday, March 2 for a “Speed Networking” session between 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (PT) at the Delfino 4001. As co-chair or chair of the HIMSS SIC SIG for the since 2006, I have always been energized by the group as we gather together and share our skills, industry knowledge, and adventures in consulting. Our current leadership is stepping down and we are in the process of looking for others to step up into these leadership positions. If you are interested in taking a leading role in this vibrant organization, you may contact me at BRC’s website contact page or call 615-373-1466.
